This was the first ever Jansen & Barbieri live performance. The event; OOR Magazine's 25th Anniversary. The Venue; The Melkweg (The Milky Way) in Amsterdam. Steve and Richard played a 40 minute set which comprised of the following titles:

As this was a one-off event, and primarily seen as the first step towards future live work, there were one or two concessions to be made. Although Richard used his full live keyboard set-up, the fact that there were three other bands performing on the same stage that evening meant that Steve preferred not to use an acoustic drum kit, but instead triggered samples via a Roland Octopad. The samples used were mostly drums and percussion taken from the original recordings. Steve also played keyboards. Mick Karn played Bass and Saxophone, and Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree / No-Man) was featured on guitar.
The performance was recorded directly from the stereo output of the live mixing console and is therefore not a mutli-track recording, or studio remix. The various instrument levels were determined by the live sound engineer at the time of the performance and were subsequently open to interpretation.
Although there is some loss of quality, this can be considered an accurate representation of the live performance at the Melkweg on 1st November 1996, and a cassette copy of that tape is available for MEDIUM SUBSCRIBERS ONLY.
